1849 N-3 R4 MS60+. Lustrous bluish steel and chocolate with mellowed mint color remaining visible in protected areas on both sides. Great eye appeal, and this cent would rate a couple points higher grade if not for a light rim bruise above star 7, a spot of verdigris right of star 9, and a speck of fine carbon under the right point of star 6. Nicely struck E-MDS, die state f. Crumbling has formed on the bottom of the D in UNITED but crumbling does not connect the C in CENT to the adjacent berry. Estimated Value $800-UP.
